Saturday Shopping List - I'm going to Paris!

Yes! It's true! In 3 weeks!!!!
So many things have kept me busy of late but there is no denying the terminal velocity of a impending departure date. Those other things are finally beginning to take on less importance and the most important thing *PARIS* is finally winning. I'll tell more later but in the mean time here is a very Parisian Saturday Shopping List.

I will tell you more about my plans to turn instantly Parisian, the "Dream" dream apartment in the Marais, the shopping, the art... Sooooon. In the meantime, check out what others are shopping for today by clicking through the list on Fancy Picnic.

Saturday Shopping List - Pet Pleasures

Showing Roly here earlier this week made me think about shopping for him on Etsy - something I must admit I've never done. Look at all the fabulous stuff you can get! These elevated bowls are just what Roly has needed all his life (poor deprived dog). If you read the boxer handbook it says to use elevated bowls. I've never seen elevated bowls before!

Roly had a tag with his name and number on it but he lost it. I really like this design. Something a bit arty for my very creative* dog.

You saw how Roly loves his bed, and how he especially loves being wrapped up in a blankie, well how is this for an idea! With this bed Roly could wrap himself!

It didn't really show in the photos this time but Roly has a fabulous coat. I made it for him many years ago. It is faux fur in yellow with black spots. It has a vague 'banana' vibe. Coffs Harbour is well know for bananas and even has The Big Banana. Roly's coat also has a vague 'royal' vibe, kind of ermine only the wrong colours. For a while there we called him the "King of the Bananas." Thankfully it didn't stick. Roly's coat is constructed in pretty much the same style as this one below. It is by far the best dog coat design I've come across. This one looks gorgeous and I love the enthusiasm of it's model!

Eh hem. Roly has worn some pretty silly things in his time, but really! I must say however, he prefers it when they are worn by a cat! Roly wouldn't know what to lick first - the cat or the hat!

Amelie from To Scarborough Fair says:
The cat items are made for occasional use; they are very lightweight and comfortable, and you would be amazed how, with a little extra TLC and some treats, your cat will get comfortable *wearing* them (on those special, fun occasions), like she/he gets used to wearing a collar.
I really should get Roly a cat to play with...

Saturday Shopping List - Sketchbooks

As a follow up to my post about Danny Gregory I thought I'd encourage you to start that sketchbook if you haven't already. If you are at all like me, you will be spending the time you could be drawing looking for the 'perfect' sketchbook. I thought I'd make it easy for you. Here are some beauties found by a quick search 'sketchbook' on Etsy.

Or you could even browse my shop for some hand printed Moleskine notebooks. As I don't have many of my rebound journals (my 'perfect' journals!) in stock I suggest you start now with a less than perfect journal and grab one of mine for your next book, when they are back in stock. Ah, I'm full of great suggestions!

Saturday Shopping List - Lemon

I'm feeling all pale. After painting my very pale painting yesterday I thought I'd shop for something pale. I found these with a quick 'lemon' search on Etsy.

I'm feeling brighter all ready! Have a good weekend!

Saturday shopping list - Let's have some art!

I'm still soooo inspired by seeing Neil Cuthbert's exhibition last weekend. I'm so in the mood for some figurative/narrative paintings! So my shopping list today is a huge artfest!

Saturday Shopping List - Relax

I need to relax. I think we all do really. Let's relax. Right now. This weekend.

Or maybe next weekend... See this is my problem! So much to do and so little time! This weekend is not an opportunity for me to relax! Today I am driving to Taree to give another talk on selling art on Etsy and about the Down Under Street Team (DUST). Don't get me wrong. I love doing this and I am really excited about being there and meeting everyone! I am still amazed that I've turned into a public speaker - me! But I LOVE it.

Tomorrow I'll be in Sydney visiting my daughters. Too much fun and excitement there to have time for relaxing! And Yay! for that! Bring it on!

Monday I'll be flying home just in time to go straight to work...

Tuesday... oh, why bother trying to figure it out!

I think what I'll do is relax by shopping at Etsy. I do that often enough and it has worked everytime! So, today's shopping list theme is 'relax.' I hope you get some!

Aah, I feel quite a bit better now.

Saturday Shopping List - Away

Yes, I've been away from my blog. I don't really have a reason. I've just been happy to catch up on some real life stuff that has needed doing for ages. I cleaned out my laundry cupboards, saw friends, spoke on the phone to distant loved ones, visited my mum and my mum-in-law, played a board game with my man, did some more organising in my studio (why does my studio need far more organising than any other room???) and figured out what little handmade goodie I will make all my friends for Christmas this year. (I can't tell you what it is because very occasionally some of them have a little look here. I didn't tell you last year either. I probably can now as they all got them for Christmas. I knitted a washcloth, bought custom made guest soaps from Inner Earth Soaps and popped one of each into a handmade box with some Chinese Lucky Stars I made out of the scraps from making the box for extra good luck. I can reveal that this years present isn't knitted and isn't crocheted either. I'd planned to crochet something but just wasn't happy with any of the patterns I found.)

Anyway, in honour of my being away I am doing my Saturday Shopping List post from items found by searching 'away' over at Etsy.

Fly Away Moleskine notebook by shoofly

Failure is Always an Option by Linocut boy
Due to a little typo in the listings title, this little gem showed up in my 'away' search. I'm happy about that because it's good to be reminded of this at times, especially if perfectionism is raising it's ugly head. (I think this could be why I am not showing you any of my own work at the moment!)

I think I am getting over my perfectionist stage. After all I am letting myself do my Saturday Shopping List post on Sunday! Remember to check out the other Saturday Shopping List posts by clicking on the links at fancypicnic.

Shopping List Saturday - Bones

I'm a bit late with my shopping list this week but with my mum and her fractured pelvis it's been a strange week. I thought I continue the strangeness just a little bit longer even though my shopping list DID include a bone today - a ham hock for making baked beans!
