And the award goes to...

Proximidade is described as follows:
This blog invests and believes in PROXIMITY - nearness in space, time and relationships. These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes for self-aggrandizement!
Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers!'
The rules are: This blog award should be sent to your favorite eight bloggers and they, in turn should forward to eight of their favorites. You should include the text for Proximidade (above) in your announcement blog.

Clare has been wonderful enough to suggest I be the recipient of such an award. I'm going to accept but only because it gives me the opportunity to pass on some of the incredible stories of the week, stories of how wonderful people from all over the world have banded together to help the victims of the Victorian bushfires.

First there is Emma (aka Felicia Fairy). I'm bending the rules of the award because she doesn't have a blog but you can become a fan on Facebook or visit her Etsy shop. Why would you want to? Emma has been the driving force behind the OzBushfireAppeal.etsy.com shop.
Emma jumped in, opened the shop and then got it going all in the twinkling of an eye. No mean feat seeing as she has a little baby on her lap most of the time.

I'm feeling a little pressured here to mention all the right people, so forgive me if I miss you (you know who you are - and I thank you too!) Next I'm going to introduce Carley (aka Vanilla Pixie). Carley is one of the many members of DUST (Down Under Street Team of Etsy) who has volunteered hours of her time to help deal with the many donations to be sold in the shop.

Tiffany (aka Owl and Fox) has also helped, as have (in no particular order)
Helena (aka Little Mo and Friends),
Kathleen (aka Whimsigals),
Nic (aka Vintage Principessa)
Emma (aka NeverEver)
Jo (aka RubyJo)
Jade (aka scherre)
melanie (aka Wiccked)
Alanna (aka Bobishi)
Vanessa (aka Light and Shade)
Carmel (aka Lace and Links)
Jay (aka Finki)
I'll stop now as I've gone way over the prescribed number of recommendations for the award, but these people really deserve it! As do all the people who have donated. It's been wonderful!

So, visit the shop (below is a snippet of what's available), have a browse and buy something you like, and all your money will go to the appeal, your goods have been donated, as has the shipping cost, and will come to you in the mail! Perfect.

Thank you so much for this. I was just doing my bit to help though. Emma has been amazing with all she has done! Donations have come from all over the world and some buyers have asked that the item they bought be relisted so their $$ were a donation not a purchase. What wonderful, caring people we have as friends on etsy.

Thanks for mentioning me :)

Really I think the award so go to the DUST team as a whole because of the way everyone has banded together to help raise the money. I can say with all honesty that I am really proud to be a member of DUST team.

And of course Emma gets special mention because the mammoth effort she has put in from the beginning.
